Speed and stopping power is overall quite similar but the G-SR-SE is a little slower and smoother while the g640 is a little faster. Both are very good but the G-SR-SE is a much better choice because of one deciding factor, the durability.

The G-SR-SE is a control pad while the g640 is a medium speed pad so the g640 is a bit faster.The G-SR-SE is affected quite a bit by humidity though and can develop a muddy feel if you live in a humid place. Out of the two I definitely recommend the G-SR-SE.

Havent found a better pad for my liking yet so im using SE with Zowie EC2/S2. I have tried several pads earlier, and heres my thoughts: G640 - a bit too fast for my liking. And a bit worse control than SE. Also wears down quite fast. G-SR- too slow, and humidity affects how fast/slow it is. Varmilo Panda - a bit faster than my G-SR-SE.

Most pads slower than a G640 are cloth, and this not resistant to humidity. If you can budge on the local store requirement you might want to grab an Equate or Equate Plus.
