Campo Sant'Angelo, in the heart of San Marco district, has an old history. Until early 1500 it comprised a church and its belltower built diagonally with the façade overlooking the canal and the nearby Monastery of St. Stephen. The campo was framed by the 14th C palaces Pisani, Gritti-Morosini and Duodo, homes to wealthy merchants.

We were on a walking tour that led us to see the leaning Campanile/Bell Tower located in Campo Sant' Angelo. Yes, that Campanile surely does lean quite a bit. The Campo itself was an uncluttered change from San Marco & others, and mostly locals seen, but some vendors in kiosks. Nice Venetian architecture of the surrounding buildings was pleasant.
