This easy family route takes you around Lac de Saint-Guérin in the Beaufortain massif. Halfway round, you'll cross an 80-metre-long Himalayan footbridge, 20 metres above the water. At the end of the loop, you'll discover the Saint-Guérin arch dam, commissioned in 1961.

The Lac de Saint-Guérin form a set of three lakes located in the department of Ain, in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. These lakes, which are ponds, are surrounded by forests and meadows. They are part of the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park. The largest lake is Lake Saint-Guérin. It is 1.5 km long and 500 m wide and its maximum depth is 9 m.

Depuis Arêches-Beaufort, rejoignez le barrage du lac de Saint-Guérin (1'564 m), où vous pouvez laisser votre voiture sur le petit parking. Après avoir traversé le barrage, nous avons pris la piste le long de la rive gauche du lac. Au bout du lac (1'557 m), vous avez abandonné le chemin qui monte aux chalets de Rognoux puis au Grand Mont d'Arêches (2686 m) dont les escarpements dominent.
